Lego Nexo Knights stories are set in the Kingdom of Knighton. Nexo heroes are under the guidance of their hologram mentor, Merlok who controls the Nexo amazing powers. A truly interactive magazine, each issue has scannable Nexo Knights shields which let readers power up in the Merlok 2.0 app to help save Knighton. Every issue is packed with striking Lego imagery and design, with exclusive posters, stories, puzzles, quizzes and great competitions. The Nexo Knights team, who are made up of Clay, Aaron, Lance, Princess Macy and Axl, protect the Kingdom Of Knighton from Jestro, the Book of Monsters, and their army of Lava Monsters. They find that by working as a team they can succeed. This provides valuable lessons for youngsters in their everyday life.
The comic strip stories are easy to read and follow and there is information on the characters, so if readers are new to Nexo Knights they can get to know each character a little better. Nexo Knights is ideal for getting kids motivated to include a little more reading in their day to day activities. There’s a colourful double -page poster and craft activity to complete too.
The puzzle page calls for a real comprehension of the story and the use of problem solving skills which is a refreshing change from some puzzle pages in magazines which provide a lesser challenge. The magazine is aimed mostly at boys although there is nothing to stop girls also enjoying this magazine – point to note – there is only one female character figure amongst the five heroes. Nexo knights could be considered as the boys equivalent of the more girly Lego Friends magazine.
