Exploring Boundaries: A Team with a Passion for Work and a Shared Love for Travel

At Unique Magazines, our cosy team of eight collaborates passionately to achieve our business goals. While we are all deeply committed to our work, we equally cherish the balance in our lives, making the most of our time outside the office. Whether it is Angela who enjoys attending football matches with her two son’s, Andrea who explores the Northeast with her partner or Ellie who delves deep into her inner self with her love for yoga, we all have our own unique ways of winding down in our spare time. Despite our diverse interests, our shared love for travel unites us.

Our fondness for adventure came alive with the discovery of “The Ultimate Travel Bucket List” magazine, introduced by our resident globetrotter, Andrea. This magazine, featuring over 50 countries and 80 bucket-list experiences, quickly found a spot on each of our desks. As we flipped through its pages, we recounted the 28 countries and experiences we’ve collectively explored. Highlights include strolls through Edinburgh, visits to Buckingham Palace, and tours of the ancient ruins in Pompeii—each place a story woven from our shared experiences.

Among the standout memories are Megan and Ellie’s wine-tasting adventure in Bordeaux, known for its gothic cathedrals and historic mansions, though their visit might have been more about the wine! Ellie’s trip to Croatia’s Plitvice Falls National Park was another highlight, where she and her sister enjoyed a picturesque picnic amid the stunning blue lakes.

Angela frequently visits family in Geneva and takes advantage of the skiing opportunities in both Switzerland and France. Both Angela and Andrea have savoured the Flavours of pizza and limoncello on the Amalfi Coast. Andrea’s travels have taken her from the pyramids of Egypt to whale watching in Cape Verde, while Sarah has immersed herself in the culture of Athens, revelled at the Venice Carnival, explored Istanbul’s mosques, and toured New York City.

The vast world offers limitless possibilities, and despite our different backgrounds, we share many dream destinations. Our collective bucket list still includes 27 items, such as the Orient Express, the Northern Lights in Iceland, the vibrancy of the Rio Carnival, the Taj Mahal, and the vibrant Holi festival in India. Our American travel dreams range from experiencing the country music scene to hiking the Appalachian Trail, with desires to visit places like New Orleans, Massachusetts, Louisiana, New York, and California.

Though we are often anchored to our office, our spirits are free to roam. Our discussions about travel and cultural experiences reveal that at heart, our values are incredibly aligned. Through travel, we not only discover the world but also deepen our understanding of each other, fuelling our passion for new horizons and shared adventures.
