Unique recommends: the British Journal of Photography

Thomas Robson, our Content and Communications Executive gives us the low-down on one of his favourite magazines from Unique Magazines – the British Journal of Photography.

Photography has been a hobby and a passion of mine for many years. I find it to be a powerful but most importantly accessible form of art. I started off being fascinated by nature photography but have since moved on to favouring portrait photography.

This is no small part thanks to seeing the photographs in the British Journal of Photography.

Coming across this magazine was a real eye-opener for me, showing exactly what photography can achieve. In many ways, I feel like reading this magazine was the moment I swapped from just taking photos, to making photos.

A great range of fantastic photography – British Journal of Photography

This magazine has a fantastic range of photography. It’s interesting, informative and inspiring. Not just the interesting portraits but landscapes, cityscapes, photojournalism, abstract photography, and everything in between.

This is a magazine truly worthy of its title, the British Journal of Photography lives up to every expectation you have of it. Not only the content but the high-quality production which gives you textured covers, foil inlay, sturdy pages with some ultra glossy full-page photographs flawlessly bound into a single issue.

If you enjoy photography, it really is a must-read, it has been a fantastic inspiration for my own photography.

Not only is this a showcase for the art, but there are also amazing articles and interviews that demonstrate the creative process and the ideas that the photographers are trying to capture.
